An Act to Amend the Judicature Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1 Subsection 2(4.1) of the Judicature Act, chapter J-2 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, is amended by striking out “eight” and substituting “eleven”.

CONSEQUENTIAL AMENDMENTS

An Act to Amend the Judicature Act

2(1) Paragraph 2(c) of An Act to Amend the Judicature Act, chapter 29 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 2001, is repealed.

2(2) Section 8 of the Act is amended by striking out “paragraphs 2(b) and (c)” and substituting “paragraph 2(b)”.

COMMENCEMENT

3 This Act comes into force on a day to be fixed by proclamation.

EXPLANATORY NOTES

Section 1

The existing provision is as follows:

2(4.1) Of the judges of the Court of Queen’s Bench eight shall be judges of the Family Division.
