An Act to Amend the Motor Vehicle Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1 Section 35 of the Motor Vehicle Act, chapter M-17 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, is amended by adding after subsection (2) the following:

35(3) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, when a vehicle is owned and operated by a volunteer firefighter, whose membership in a fire brigade has been approved by the chief of a fire department, and the volunteer firefighter has fastened a special firefighter registration plate to his or her vehicle, the annual registration fee shall be nil.

2 This Act comes into force on a day to be fixed by proclamation.
