An Act to Amend the Off-Road Vehicle Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1 Paragraph 39.2(4)(a) of the Off-Road Vehicle Act, chapter O-1.5 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 1985, is amended by striking out “$15” and substituting “$25”.

2 The collection and retention by the Minister of Public Safety or his or her predecessor of the amount of ten dollars from each motorized snow vehicle registration fee paid under the Off-Road Vehicle Act between October 1, 1995, and March 31, 2007, and the subsequent disbursement of such funds to government departments or the New Brunswick Federation of Snowmobile Clubs Inc. shall be deemed to have been validly done and is hereby ratified and confirmed.

3 Section 1 of this Act shall be deemed to have come into force on April 1, 2007.

EXPLANATORY NOTES

Section 1

The existing provision is as follows:

39.2(4) The following shall be paid into the Fund:

(a)  $15 of the fee prescribed by regulation for the registration of a motorized snow vehicle;

Section 2

This section validates, ratifies and confirms the collection, retention and disbursement by the Minister of Public Safety of money received from motorized snow vehicle registrations under the Off-Road Vehicle Act between October 1, 1995, and March 31, 2007.
