BILL 42

 

An Act Respecting The Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint John

 

WHEREAS The Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint John prays that it be enacted as hereinafter set forth;

 

THEREFORE, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

 

1                   All property, real and personal, of every nature, kind and description,

 

(a)           situate in, upon or about or appertaining to what comprises or comprehends the Roman Catholic parish known as The Ascension, Beaver Brook Station or Beaverbrook Bridge, in the County of Northumberland and now vested in L'Évêque catholique romain de Bathurst, or

 

(b)           which is held by any person or persons, firm, corporation or association (excepting as by law otherwise provided or by conveyance otherwise intended) in trust for the said parish or any church, pious foundation, religious, charitable or educational institution, hall or building within the said parish,

 

is hereby vested in the corporation of The Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint John.

 

2                   Nothing herein contained shall affect or be construed to affect in any way or manner the rights of Her Majesty, her heirs or successors, or any debentures issued under the authority of any Act of the Legislature of New Brunswick by any Bishop within whose Diocese the said parish may at any time have been or, except as aforesaid, the private rights of any person or persons or any body politic or corporate whomsoever.

 

3                   This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on January 3, 2009.
