An Act to Amend the Municipal Elections Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1 Section 13 of the Municipal Elections Act, chapter M-21.01 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 1979, is amended

(a)  by repealing subsection (1) and substituting the following:

13(1) Subject to subsections (2) and (3), every person is entitled to vote in an election or plebiscite under this Act held in the municipality in which the person ordinarily resides if the person is

(a)  eighteen years of age as of the day of the election, and

(b)  a Canadian citizen.

(b)  by repealing subsection (1.1).
