An Act to Amend the Crown
Construction Contracts Act
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and
consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:
1 Section
1 of the English version of the Crown Construction Contracts Act,
chapter C-36 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, is amended
(a) by repealing the definition “materialman”;
(b) by repealing the definition “workman”;
(c) by adding the following definitions in
alphabetical order:
“material supplier” means a
person having a contract with a contractor, or with a subcontractor
who has a contract with a contractor, for the supply of material to
a contract; (fournisseur de matériaux)
“worker” means a person who
has a contract with a contractor, or with a subcontractor who has
a contract with a contractor, to provide work on a contract; (travailleur)

7 of the English version of the Act is amended
(a) in subsection (1) by striking out “materialman”
and “workman” wherever they appear and substituting “material supplier” and “worker” respectively;
(b) in subsection (3) by striking out “materialman”
and “workman” wherever they appear and substituting “material supplier” and “worker” respectively;
(c) in subsection (4)
(i) in paragraph (b)
by striking out “materialman” and “workman”
and substituting “material
supplier” and “worker” respectively;
(ii) in paragraph
(c) by striking out “materialman” and “workman”
and substituting “material
supplier” and “worker” respectively;
(d) in subsection (5) by striking out “materialman”
and “workman” and substituting “material supplier” and “worker” respectively.
