An Act Respecting the Saint
John Harbour Bridge Authority
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and
consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:
Definitions
1 The
following definitions apply in this Act.
“Authority” means the Saint
John Harbour Bridge Authority constituted as a body politic and corporate
under the constituting Act. (Authority)
“constituting Act” means An Act to Establish a Harbour Bridge Authority
in The City of Saint John, chapter 150 of the Acts of New Brunswick,
1961-62. (loi constitutive)
Additional powers of Authority
2 In
addition to the powers that the Authority has been granted under the
constituting Act, the Authority has all those rights, powers and privileges
of a natural person that are necessary to do any of the following:
(a) carry
out the objects and purposes of the Authority under the constituting
Act;
(b) sell,
transfer, convey, dispose of or otherwise deal with the debts, assets
and liabilities of the Authority, including the real property and
the personal property of the Authority;
(c) wind-up
under the Winding-up Act,
dissolve or liquidate and dissolve the Authority;
(d) enter
into an agreement with the Province, the Government of Canada, a municipality
or any other person for the purpose of exercising the powers granted
to the Authority under this Act or the constituting Act; or
(e) anything
the Authority considers necessary for or incidental to doing those
things referred to in paragraphs (b)
to (d).
