Statute Repeal Act
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:
Annual report of legislation not in force
1(1) In every calendar year, the Attorney General shall lay before the Legislative Assembly, on any of the first five days on which the Legislative Assembly sits, a report listing every public Act of the Legislature or provision of a public Act of the Legislature that is to come into force on a day or days to be fixed by proclamation and that
(a)  was assented to nine years or more before the December 31 immediately preceding the laying of the report, and
(b)  had not come into force on or before that December 31.
1(2) If an Act or provision referred to in subsection (1) is, in the opinion of the Attorney General, substantially amended by an Act that is assented to during the time period referred to in paragraph (1)(a), it shall not be listed in a report until the calendar year following the ninth anniversary of that assent.
Repeal on December 31 following
2 Every Act or provision listed in the report will be repealed on December 31 of the year in which the report is laid unless
(a)  the Act or provision comes into force on or before that December 31, or
(b)  during that year, the Legislative Assembly adopts a resolution that the Act or provision is not repealed.
Publication in The Royal Gazette
3 Each year, the Attorney General shall publish in The Royal Gazette a list of the Acts and provisions repealed on the preceding December 31 under this Act.
Commencement
4 This Act comes into force on July 1, 2014.
