An Act to Amend the Emergency Measures Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1 Section 1 of the Emergency Measures Act, chapter 147 of the Revised Statutes, 2011, is amended by adding the following definition in alphabetical order:

“critical infrastructure” means infrastructure of critical importance in time of emergency, as identified and described by regulation.

2 Subsection 6(1) of the Act is amended by adding after paragraph (a) the following:

(a.1)        enter into agreements with owners or operators of critical infrastructure, with respect to emergency measures plans;

3 Section 7 of the Act is amended by adding after paragraph (a) the following:

(a.1)        review and approve, or require modification to, an emergency measures plan for critical infrastructure;

4 Section 25 of the Act is amended by adding after paragraph (g) the following:

(g.1)  the identification and description of critical infrastructure under this Act;

(g.2)  the responsibility of owners and operators of critical infrastructure to have emergency measures plans as approved by the Minister;
