Competitive Appointments Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1                  The appointment of all Deputy Heads, Chairs, Presidents and Chief Executive Officers of Crown corporations, agencies, boards and commissions shall be based on merit, shall be free from favouritism and shall be made following an open competition or other process of personnel selection designed to establish the merit of the candidates.
