An Act to Amend the Motor Vehicle Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1 Section 84 of the Motor Vehicle Act, chapter M-17 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, is amended

(a)  in subsection (1) in the definition “accompanying driver” by striking out “or subparagraph 84(5)(a)(i) or (ii)”;

(b)  by repealing paragraph (5)(a);

(c)  by repealing subsection (5.1);

(d)  by repealing subsection (5.2);

(e)  in subsection (5.4) by striking out “or subparagraph (5)(a)(i), (ii) or (iii)”.

2 Paragraph 297(2)(d.1) of the Act is amended by striking out “or subparagraph 84(5)(a)(i),(ii) or (iii)”.

3 Schedule A of the Act is amended by striking out

84(5)(a), (b) or (c). . . . . . . . . . . . . .

and substituting the following:

84(5)(b) or (c). . . . . . . . . . . . . .

4 This Act or any provision of it comes into force on a day or days to be fixed by proclamation.
