An Act to Amend the Political Process Financing Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1 Section 3 of the Political Process Financing Act, chapter P-9.3 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 1978, is amended by

(a)          repealing subsection (2) and substituting the following:

3(2)             Notwithstanding subsection (1), all donations made in support of the campaign of a contender for the leadership of a political party or for the candidacy of a political party or organized group in an electoral district shall be disclosed to the Supervisor by that person within ninety days of the leadership or nomination decision.

(b)          repealing subsection (3) and substituting the following:

3(3)             The balance of any donations made in support of the campaign of a contender for the leadership of a political party or for the candidacy of a political party or organized group in an electoral district and not expended or consumed by him in the course of the campaign or convention shall be distributed

(a)          to the persons who made the donation; or

(b)          to any other person for any purpose approved by the Supervisor

within a time limit prescribed by the Su-pervisor.
