An Act to Amend the Motor Vehicle Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1 Section 2.2 of the Motor Vehicle Act, chapter M-17 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, is amended by striking out “258(1),” and substituting “258(1), 260(5), (6), (6.1), (7), (8) and (9),”.

2 Section 260 of the Act is amended

(a)  in subsection (6) in the portion preceding paragraph (a) by striking out “Minister” and substituting “Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure”;

(b)  in paragraph (9)(b) by striking out “sixty” and substituting “120”.

TRANSITIONAL PROVISION
AND COMMENCEMENT

Transitional provision

3 Any person whose designation under paragraph 260(6)(a) or (b) of the Motor Vehicle Act is in effect immediately before the commencement of this section shall be deemed on the commencement of this section to be designated under that paragraph by the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure.

Commencement

4 This Act comes into force on a day to be fixed by proclamation.
