An Act to Amend the Firefighters’ Compensation Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1 Section 20 of the Firefighters’ Compensation Act, chapter F-12.5 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 2009, is amended

(a)  by repealing paragraph (a) and substituting the following:

(a)  an amount equal to 40% of the New Brunswick Industrial Aggregate Earnings to assist with necessary expenses of death such as burial,

(b)  by adding after paragraph (a) the following:

(a.1)  an amount equal to 50% of the New Brunswick Industrial Aggregate Earnings, and

Commencement

2 This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on December 20, 2012.
