An Act to Amend the Procurement Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1 Section 24 of the Procurement Act, chapter 20 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 2012, is amended by adding after subsection 24(3) the following:

24(4)          Within 45 days after the end of a fiscal year, the Minister shall make available to the public all procurement contracts undertaken during the previous fiscal year in any of the following circumstances:

(a)          the contract value is $10,000 or more;

(b)          amendments result in a contract being valued at $10,000 or more; or

(c)          the total value of consecutive contracts with the same contractor is valued at $10,000 or more within a fiscal year.

2 Section 29 of the Act is amended by adding after paragraph (x) the following:

(x.1)       prescribing the format and type of publication to be used to make procurement contracts available to the public;

3 This Act comes into force on a day or days to be fixed by proclamation.
