An Act to Amend the Child and Youth Advocate Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1                  The Child and Youth Advocate Act, chapter C-2.7 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 2007, is amended by adding after subsection 3(3) the following:

3(3.1)         The selection committee shall be established not fewer than 90 days before the end of the term of the Advocate.

3(3.2)         If the office of Advocate becomes vacant more than one year before the end of the term of the Advocate, the selection committee shall be established within 30 days after the vacancy occurs.
