An Act to Amend the Clean Environment Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1 The Clean Environment Act, chapter C-6 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, is amended by adding the following after section 5.3:

Wastewater produced by hydraulic fracturing

5.4 No person shall discharge or cause or permit the discharge of wastewater produced by hydraulic fracturing into a wastewater works that is owned or operated by the Province or by a municipality, regional municipality, rural community or wastewater commission established under this Act.
