An Act to Amend the Motor Vehicle Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1              Section 140.1 of the Motor Vehicle Act, chapter M-17 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, is amended

(a)        in paragraph (1)(a) by striking out “fifty” and substituting “thirty”;

(b)        in paragraph (1)(c) by striking out “eighty” and substituting “fifty”;

(c)        in subsection (2) by striking out “may designate” and substituting “shall designate”;

(d)        in subsection (3) by adding “and the maximum rate of speed” after “school zone”.

2 Section 142 of the Act is amended

(a)        in subsection (2) by striking out “may, by by-law” and substituting “shall, by by-law”;

(b)        in subsection (3) by adding “and the maximum rate of speed” after “school zone”.
