An Act to Amend the Motor Vehicle Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1 Subsection 33(1) of the Motor Vehicle Act, chapter M-17 of the Revised Statutes, 1973 is repealed and the following is substituted:

33( 1) Unless the regulations provide otherwise, every vehicle registration under this Act, other than the registration of a commercial vehicle, and every registration certificate and registration plate issued under this Act for such vehicle shall only expire when such vehicle is sold or transferred to a new owner.

2 The Act is amended by adding after section 249 the following:

249.01 Notwithstanding paragraph 249(b.1), a certificate of inspection is valid until the end of the month in the second year after issuance.
