An Act to Amend the Employment Standards Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1 Section 9 of the Employment Standards Act, chapter E-7.2 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 1982, is amended by adding after subsection (1) the following:

9( 1.1) Despite subsection (1), the minimum wage shall be at least:

afor employees paid hourly, $12 per hour;

bfor employees whose hours of work per week are unverifiable and who are not strictly employed on a commission basis, $528 per week;

cfor time worked in excess of the maximum number of hours of work prescribed by regulation, $18 per hour.

2 This Act comes into force on April 1, 2019.
