An Act to Amend the Electricity Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:

1 Section 101 of the Electricity Act, chapter 7 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 2013, is amended by adding after subsection (1) the following: 

101( 1.1) Despite subsection (1), the Corporation is not required to file the plan referred to in that subsection in 2020.

2 The Act is amended by adding after section 103 the following:  

Rates – fiscal year 2021-2022

103.1( 1) Despite subsection 103(1), the Corporation shall not make an application to the Board for approval of the Corporation’s schedules of rates it proposes to charge for its services for the fiscal year which commences on April 1, 2021.

103.1( 2) For the fiscal year which commences on April 1, 2021, the Corporation shall charge for its services the rates last approved or fixed by the Board until such time as new rates are approved or fixed under section 103.
