Isabelle Thériault is the member for the Caraquet riding and the new Minister of Tourism, Heritage and Culture. In October 2024, she began her third term in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick.

First elected in 2018 and reelected in 2020, she was appointed Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party of New Brunswick and has also been the Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries Critic for the official opposition and then Critic for Tourism, Heritage and Culture and for Women’s Equality.

Before going into politics, Ms. Thériault had a career in the arts. An experienced musician, she spent nearly 15 years on the road on multiple tours throughout Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia, and Africa as the musical director for the groups Ode à l’Acadie, Les Muses, and DRUM, as well as a multi-instrumentalist for many renowned musicians. Ms. Thériault has run several major events for national television.

With an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong sense of organization, she founded two businesses in Caraquet, the Académie Isabelle Thériault music school and the popular summer bistro La Brôkerie. She has also been the executive and artistic director of the Festival acadien de Caraquet.

These achievements have earned her several distinctions over the years: three Éloizes awards, two Music NB awards, an East Coast Music Award, and Female Entrepreneur of the Year for the Acadian Peninsula.

Ms. Thériault is a true ambassador for Acadia, never hesitating to advocate for Acadian culture, language, and people. Having chosen to return to live in the Acadian Peninsula, she believes in the importance of living in a rural region and contributing to the vitality of her community. She is the mother of Léo, partner of Serge, and stepmother of Arianne and Chloé.
